How do I make a knife handle dishwasher safe?

Image 1. Click to open in original size.

I know you're not supposed to run cuttleries with wooden handles in the dishwasher, but it's impractical to have to do it by hand. I ran it in the dishwasher once. That made the handle coarse. What can I do to make it more water-resistant? Would some kind of oil do?

I am not sure, I have always just washed knives with wooden handles by hand. Confused

Apart from not liking hand washing things, this one is also difficult because it so easily cuts the brush bristles. It is serrated and very sharp to cut any type of bread easily.

I understand. We had knives like that at the deli I used to work at. We always hand washed them carefully with soap and water and a thick sponge. Hope you find a solution!

A sponge could work. 🙂
