How to deal with Culture Shock

2018-04-28 22:55 #0 by: jordan

Unfortunately my time in Sweden is quickly coming to an end, and one thing that concerns me is whether I will have to deal with culture shock or not. Personally, I did not suffer it when I arrived here, but luckily there are steps you can take to prevent it when you return, thanks to Wikihow:

Give yourself time to relax.

Talk to a therapist if you’re feeling depressed or distant from others.

Decorate your space with trinkets and photos.

Stay in touch with foreign friends.

Share your stories of life abroad.

Connect with your family and friends.

Pick up old hobbies.

Get outside and exercise.

Enjoy the things you missed while you were away.

Set a proper sleep schedule to combat jet lag.

Wish I knew this before moving today, I remember on my second day here I cried in the middle of the supermarket because I was so overwhelmed, I laugh about it now though. Laughing out loud

All the best, Leia

#5: You’d better wait a while before you start driving then. :-)
