How do I get rid of cutlery marks on white porcelain?

After less than a year our Ikea plates are full of grey marks from cutlery. Do you know how to get rid of them? Or, even better, how to avoid getting them in the first place. It may be that this is what you can expect from cheap Ikea porcelain.

Have you tried sodium bicarbonate?

Use it the same way we used scouring powder, when we could buy such useful thing. Just a little, then rub with a finger dipped in some (very little) water.

It works. It took some scrubbing and not all went away, but most did. Thanks! :-)

Using a lemon in addition to the sodium bicarbonate helps as well 🙂

#6: The only difference is that they are white. :-) Unfortunately, they get the marks again immediately when we use cutlery on them. #7: Good tip. Thanks!
