How to make how-to videos in 5 steps

Image 1. Click to open in original size.

If you would like to make a how-to video, Animoto has blogged about it. Here are the general steps:

  1. Choose a topic for your video. Make sure it's something easier shown in a video than using another medium.

  2. Use a title that accurately describes your video and makes viewers curious.

  3. Give simple instructions that viewers can easily follow along.

  4. Add a lot of video clips or photos that show how and what to do.

  5. Edit fiercely to make sure the video is less than 60 seconds, or you risk loosing many viewers before it's over.

Aah! If you make a how-to video you are welcome to show it here. Unless it's a "how to break the law" kind of how-to.

Then I have to get the time and try.  Why must it be Youtube or Vimeo? ConfusedSad
