Definitely. I remember exactly where I were when I watched the live reporting.

I was too young so I don't have any memories of it. I have a memory "linked" to it though, when I was in 7th grade (about 12-13 years old I think) we had to write a journal for a week. Our teacher said something like "you never know what happens. I remember when we did it back in 2001 and you can all guess what they wrote about that day". I was so scared the entire week! Nothing like that did happen that I knew about so that was good at least.

Excuse me. Aeroplane is the brittish (the queens) English for what spells airplane in the USA.
During the wars they were used to transport bombs from one country to another.
Over us flew the planes from England to Germany (often Hamburg) and back to England..
They were not allowed to fly over Sweden så the mlitary here shoot (even if they didn't want to hit) the planes, and one of them   came down near us. This plane was on its way back to England after was what done to Hamburg.

The memories from this was that I felt somefhing bad every time I heard planes whith the same sound for about 60 years. Nowadays the planes have other sounds.

How weird it is for someone like me, born in 1994, to think that bananas couldn't be bought at every grocery store before. It's like the most common fruit, I see people eat it every day. One of my relatives told me about the first time he ate a tomato - he had never seen one before and he didn't even know it was a tomato. He thought it was an apple… Can you imagine how disgusted he was when he bit the "apple" and it was a tomato instead? Laughing out loud He still doesn't eat tomatoes….

The newspapers had it as a big event when the first boat with oranges came to Sweden after the war.
Do you know that not all Swedish waters are minesweept yet?
